Fox Plush - Sort Of

I know, it's been a while since I worked on something new in the way of patterns.   But with the show season coming up this summer and fleece cost at 70% off (!!!!!) right now, I thought I'd take a shot at doing up a soft sculpture fox for this year.  Going through Pinterest and using Google for ideas on how to simplify a pattern so that it wouldn't take a ton of time making up a dozen or so at once, I finally settled on the classic 'draw it in silhouette and then modify it slightly' way of getting a good pattern made.

So -- that said, the picture below is the inspiration for the basic body shape.  I'd be using orange or red fleece for the legs, tail and top, with white as the tail tip and underside of the belly.  It would be loosely stuffed so it could flop a bit.  Black/white ears, but with a fold on the top inside to give better dimension.  A large black nose.  And safety lock eyes.  Not sure if I wanted to make the legs black or red/orange, or a mix.

However that same pattern can be used to make a gray fox, a white one and even a blue one with lighter blue tummy for variety. I'm figuring 12" long for the length of the body at most, and keep them in line with 'fox kits' instead of a full adult.

AND ---- Ta Da!!!!! ---- Use the same pattern but with a slightly thinner tail (he did have a jackal tail after all) and metallic gold on the inside of the ears, done up as a black Anubis doll!!!!!!!  Yes!  I've even got gold safety lock eyes that are perfect for it.
