Is the website worth keeping up?
Yep, I think it is. I got all my facts and figures together for tax time and the site pulled in $600 plus half the Ferret Tarot deck orders this past year. Not a huge amount (we can't live on it, in other words) but it's there for people to find, so it's doing it's job.
Orders came in for a dozen Narbonic Gerbils, three green Cthulhu dolls, a pair of flying monkeys and some catnip mice in various blues, in the past two weeks. Today I got a feeler from a pet store in Illinois wanting to know if I do bulk catnip toy orders (a Pennsic War crossover, they spread the word about my 'good' catnip). I also am going to have a black and white paper doll of a pirate cat put into the program book for the International Paper Doll Convention (held in Indiana this year I think), for their color-it-in contest. It's a freebie, I don't get paid for it, but my email and website is listed on it. Everything had to fit onto one page, be media themed (I chose Treasure Island, even though the costume was for a parody of Pirates of the Caribbean) and have at least one costume piece on it. He got a costume, flintlock gun, hat and there was also a skeleton with a chest of gold dubloons. It filled in the entire sheet pretty tight.
Speaking of taxes, I had them done and the forms mailed on Monday this week, and here on Saturday I already got my state Homestead credit in the mail! Wow! Six days, last time it took a little over 2 months to get my refund. I still have something coming from Federal, but that one likely will take a full month to get to me, as I did admittedly file pretty late.
