End of August Again
We barely survived Pennsic 36, between the upper 90's in weather and the 89% humidity and being rained out most nights, it wasn't fun this year. More like an endurance event--eight out of the ten days were awful then two nice days at the end. At least we could pack dry this year thanks to that. This moving the event earlier has its downside.
They said we didn't reach 12,000 attendees, only around 11,680 approx. It seemed lower, but I think a lot of people stayed in their encampments due to the weather.
Had one of the Cooper's cats visit our tent on two nights, scared the bejeeses out of the light colored tabby who panicked when I flashed a light on her at 3am (I wanted to make sure it wasn't the possum someone had seen one row over the night before). The cat tried jumping straight up the tent wall 5 times trying to get out so I left her alone.
Sold ok, didn't make what I thought we should, but a lot of the older stuff moved and there was far less to pack than I anticipated, at the end.
Awful weather, semi-dead people. NO crowds at midnight madness, prices up in the camp store, prices up for admission..... Steve asked me how long I was planning on doing this event so even he was feeling the stress this year.
But I did get good feedback on the cat cartoons, we sold a lot of catnip, and the big hanging bats were a big hit. Some positives at least.
