Funny Mushrooms & Baby Bunnies

Catnip time! I've been putting together the heaps of stuff I'll be needing for cat toys, even if it's just the machine sewing at this point and not the stuffing of them (running low on catnip). So the funny mushrooms are cut and going to be worked on tonight, some mice again, the corn is finally finished, and I am going to try to do some baby bunnies (since that creature is always a cat's first choice of play prey) to be in the 'new' pile this year. Not sure how detailed they'll be, but they'll have little bunny ears. Probably look like elongated hamsters.

I tried looking for catnip today, the plants are only halfway up to the knees, too early to cut. I did get a small bagful which is drying out by the garage right now. But it looks like the cutting season isn't going to be ready for another 2 weeks. We need more rain to make this stuff grow.

Investments

I invested $11 to make $125. But I can't collect it till August.

Basically I got 2 yards of yellow corn on the cob print fabric from JoAnn's for 40% off, 1/2 yard of black with brown pickle print and 1/3 yard of brown with black pickle print (also 40% off) and 1/2 yard of green microfleece (discounted) for the $10. They'll make 64 mini corn on the cobs cat toys, 36 black and 25 brown 'mother' leeches with babies. All selling at $1 each at Pennsic. Course I'm not counting the stuffing, thread, google eyes, glue and pins that need to be added into the mix, but it doesn't raise the cost that much.

I'm glad I saw the corn print in the calico section, I've never seen that one before, only the Indian corn print which is seasonal for Fall and makes great fake mini Indian corn cat toys. This way I'll have corn on the cob too. I'd add a pat of butter, but that wouldn't stay attached once the cats get hold of things.
