Production, Production, Production
Sorry for no postings this past month. I've been trying to make more inventory in advance this year to avoid the last minute panic rush. Bristol Ren Faire, Pennsic War, St. Agnes Holly Festival are the main ones, and then there's the side sales I get off the internet plus the person in California who puts my toys up on her website and wants holiday themed toys a month in advance. The boxes are starting to be filled, inventoried and marked with tags on their covers. Then stored in the basement in stacks on the table (we get water in the basement occasionally).
There are pre-cut pieces on the table, in boxes, in bags, and stacked in the craft room waiting for me to get to them. 2 hours a day sewing on the machine and then evenings for turning, stuffing, detailing. It helps to do production line, 20 at a time if possible. I try to ignore the boxes in the living room full of partially assembled items that I've not gotten to yet.
It gets time consuming, and my posture pays for it as well, I hunch over noticeably now, after years of sewing like this. I'm sure I'll pay for it later with arthritis. I am NOT looking forward to that.
No new designs have been thought up in the past two months. Not really. I haven't gotten enough inspiration off Pinterest or Etsy or any other site that I can use as a springboard for something different. That doesn't mean I don't look though. I'm always keeping an eye out for something new that might work in a different fashion for me.
